Phonics Screening 2022

In June 2022, the 2022 Phonics Screening Test was given to all children in Year 1, the first year of Key Stage 1, in England. Normally, children that failed the previous year's phonics screening test (when they were in Year 1) were required to take it again. However, due to the 2021 Phonics Screening Test being cancelled, this did not happen.

2022 Phonics Screening Dates

Primary schools had the freedom to choose a day within the week commencing 5th June 2022. As some schools are larger than others, the test can take place on one day or across several days.
