Phonics Screening 2019

In June 2019, the 2019 Phonics Screening Test was given to all eligible pupils in Year 1 as part of the national curriculum. Children that failed the 2018 Phonics Screening Test (when they were in Year 1) were required to take the 2019 Phonics Screening Test in Year 2. Just like in previous years, the 2019 Phonics Check included real words and nonsense words. Use previous years Phonics Screening Tests to help prepare your child for their upcoming Phonics Screening Check.

2019 Phonics Screening Dates

Schools had the freedom to choose a day within the week commencing 17th June 2019. As some schools are larger than others, the test can take place on one day or across several days.
